Erlen Garten

The "Erlen" house was built in 1689 as a replacement building. Until 1730, the "fence", now Zaunplatz, was located directly in front of the slightly raised patrician house. The first stage of the redesign of the gardens began in 2020, and the second stage was completed in 2021. When designing the gardens, historical plans were used and designed in a new formal language. Compacted areas were broken up and the carport built in 2001 was dismantled. Over 27 trees were translocated into the complex, including a Sequoiadendron Giganteum over 20 meters high.

The house in Glarus is a historic building that is considered a monument due to its architectural and cultural significance. It reflects the architecture and lifestyle of past eras and is part of the context of Glarus' patrician houses, which are characterized by their impressive architecture and long history.
